The new year is a great time to give yourself a fresh start. I love a fresh start to clean out a space, or reseting my goals like weight loss or eating more veggies. I’m a fan of looking forward to what is next and setting goals based on those upcoming adventures or big events. For me, many of my adventures take me across the country to fun and exciting new places, in 2018 even internationally!
Intensions for my 2018
Kick My Butt Into Shape: I know, I know, everyone has a similar goal of weight loss in the new year. Honestly thought, this is the best time to just reset yourself and give it a fresh new start! I don’t just want to lose weight, but to get myself in good shape for my heart and health as well as make sure I am eating more naturally healthy food! I gave myself this same goal last year, and am off to a awesome start! I was someone who needed portion control and those frozen meals were my best friend, allowing me to eat tasty meals but not eating too much. I ended up leaning on those meals far too much and many of them have a lot of extra sodium and other additives that are not as good as a fresh homemade meal could be. This year I am going to continue my intension of incorporating fresh natural foods into my everyday!
Cook More: I am officially going to stop saying “learn to cook” but give myself a little break because I have actually been doing pretty well learning to cook and bake this year! This intension is very much a helpful step towards my last goal. If I can continuing learning to cook more with the fresh ingredients and create some yummy meals, then I will be able to keep that goal of eating healthy too – no more frozen meals for me people!
Being More Positive: I want to not only reset my body but to reset my mind too. It is so important to have a positive attitude to make your day brighter and your goals easier to attain. Not to mention, everyone around you is much happier when you are! I have been working on catching myself when frustrated or upset about something and taking a few breaths and thinking about the positive in the situation. One can always find the rainbow through the rain if you look hard enough, and often times I forget to keep looking. Positivity if not only good for your mind but it is also great for your body too. Many times a negative mind can be the downward spiral to being too tired to get up for that workout, or to cook dinner and at the end of the day, you back to where you started. Are you noticing these goals all connecting? Intensional intensions!
Be Adventurous: I am lucky enough to travel often for work, and although I am exploring new cities for my job and my time is filled with meetings, I love finding a spare moment or two to give myself the chance to explore something new while I am there. I have in the last few years enjoyed museums a whole lot more, and getting to see cool exhibits or interesting sculptures in a new city has become something I love doing. I also LOVE eating, so making sure to find those top spots where all the best dishes are is always a must for me! I want to keep this up, especially in 2018. I have so many fun cities that I will be exploring this year, and if I can explore it will someone else then that is a bonus! I plan to take Robert along with me as often as he can be there, but may also bring some of my favorite friends along too!
I would love to hear your new year intensions and if you have been keeping up so far or are already feeling depleted. I would also love to know how you keep up with you goals, do you have tips & tricks? I really want to stick to my intensions, so spill!
